Ubuntu is attracting much attention since DELL computers starting shipping Laptops with a choice of Windows or Ubuntu Linux. TPC president, Terry McKenna, will explain a method of installing Ubuntu on a Windows PC, while keeping your Windows OS intact, using virtualization software by Virtualbox.org. Ubuntu installation and some customization steps will be demonstrated with browser snapshots. Those considering an Windows OS companion will get the information they need to make an informed decision. In the remaining time, an alternative to hosting your web site on the free disk space from your ISP will be introduced. Domain registration, URL Forwarding and Masking, and the popular cPanel web hosting browser control panel will be discussed.
TIME: Doors open about 6:30, the meeting starts at 7PM
VENUE: The meetings are held in the basement of The Tokyo Union Church (map) on Omotesando Dori, a short walk from the A-1 exit of the Omotesando subway station on the Ginza, Hanzomon, and Chiyoda Lines.
