June 7, 2007: **Secrets in an IT Consultant’s Toolbox**

Interested in learning about some tools that can seriously improve the way you work, your productivity, or how to manage your life? Mr. Jason Winder, President & CEO of Webnet IT will demonstrate some of these technologies at our next meeting.

When it comes to IT, Jason has a keen interest in new technologies and the business applications of these new tools.  As a result, he’s continuously trying new and upcoming tools, Web 2.0 applications, operating systems, devices and software.

Jason’s presentation will be loosely focused on Business IT technologies, but will aim for a broad range of technology, some examples of which will be:

* The Google Revolution. How many of Google’s new and extremely useful functions are you actively using? (Practical Application : Finding and organizing information fast – and making it look good in the process) Focus : Google Desktop (Practical Application : Revolutionizing the way you store and find your personal information)

* Windows Mobile and Push Email (Practical Application : Fast access to Business or Personal Mail with all the benefits of a PDA Phone)

* Wireless Headsets and Voice Recognition (Practical Application : Keeping your hands free, and making and receiving calls)

* Docking Stations – They’re actually useful. Which PCs work with them, and why use them? (Practical Application : Data management. Keeping your data and settings in one place as you travel around)

* Asterisk/Trixbox (Practical Application : Business PBX System in a flash)

* Bit Torrents (Practical Application : Sharing large files with large groups of people.)

TIME: Doors open about 6:30, the meeting starts at 7PM

VENUE: The meetings are held in the basement of The Tokyo Union Church (map) on Omotesando Dori, a short walk from the A-1 exit of the Omotesando subway station on the Ginza, Hanzomon, and Chiyoda Lines. The entrance is through the parking area at the side of the church.

COST: Members free, non-members 1000 yen at the door.
